Being able to remake your favorite tunes is a great skill to have. It helps practice your production skills and keep them honed. Depending on the experience and program you have it shouldn’t be too difficult, so give it a try! Here we take a look at a song from Daft Punk, the famous French electronic music duo that gave us hits like Around the World.

If you have any tunes you would really like to see broken down here, just get in touch! The same goes for if you have comments or suggestions, questions or ideas. This site will hopefully be useful for all you international producers out there. Before you know it you’ll be producing things you never thought possible, getting your tracks released and providing melodies for artists, radio jingles, ringtones for Mobile Broadband deals and more! Keep at it. Thanks for your visit!

A lot of people were confused as to the intro to this song sample wise so I decided to clear it up.

More to come.

Here is another video from my series. Sorry I am so slow. I am not at home and do not have access to any of my equipment! I haven’t been home all year, But I should be home in a week. Can expect more then. Effects Used. Auto-panning. Phaser with liquid effects.

Sample = Edwin Birdsong – Cola Bottle Baby

Programs used =
1. Amadeus Pro (Mac OS X)
2. Ableton Live 6.0.7 (Mac OS X)

Hit me up if you have any questions.

In this video I use the drum rack instrument to quickly and easily take chunks out of an audio file, tweaking them into glitchy and abstract drum sounds.

I hope these videos aren’t too dull to watch. I had to make a choice: Take far more time editing the videos down immensely, or keep in most of the detail in the process. I chose to keep the video more intact and longer because I created these videos for people who, like me, enjoy watching the whole process of sound creation.

This is part 1 of a 3 video set on creating the drum kit. The next videos after those will move onto the stage of coming up with a beat, processing the drum sounds with effects, and then eventually using the slice to midi feature in live to do some hip-hop style chopping to the glitchy beats. At the end of the process, I will have some beats and drum sounds to use on the album I am currently putting together. I hope you enjoy watching!
