Ableton Live

How to time- a song in ableton live. First part of a series on using Ableton Live! for DJing

I will be posting a new video shortly. As I stated before, this is the long way of doing it. You can do it much faster without changing the project tempo, and using the from here option.

Once you get the first few markers set, the rest of the markers pretty much fall in to place.

For the people who said they don’t think I know what I am doing, I might not, but it works for me, and a couple thousand other people. Please post a link to how you do it, if you can do it better.

It was just what i needed to see. I got back from Stereo yesterday and tried to mix a set using AL5. I had minor issues. I think that i will retry it.

This tutorial, and its methods, work just fine. It’s probably the simplest way to get going with mixing in ableton. Many folks do it different, thats the beauty of ableton, its flexible! I personally use a more software based approach to take advantage of the routing the ableton mixer has to offer, but I’m to lazy to make a video demonstrating that! So props to KJ for taking the time to show ableton newcomers how its done with an analogue mixer a little warp marker action.
